With the approval of the Federal Council on December 18, 2020 for the 2020 Annual Tax Act, the new forms for 2021 were published at the end of December. The order of the lines has been changed in the form and new lines have also been added. For this reason, an adjustment by SAP is necessary. The new form for the VAT advance return is automatically delivered with Release 2102.

In the event that you do not have a permanent extension of the deadline and you have to generate the advance VAT return for January at the beginning of February, it is necessary to manually activate the new form for the 2021 VAT return in SAP Business ByDesign.

In the following you will find instructions for this in 4 steps:

1. Obtain the new form. We will be happy to provide this to you.

2. In SAP Business ByDesign, open the Form template management :
Please go to the Application and User Management work center, under the Business Flexibility category you will find the Form Template Management task

3. Replace the existing template:
Open the advanced filter and select in the field Template name by * 2021 *.
Select the form template VAT advance notification 2021 for the language German .
Now click on Upload and select the option To replace the existing variant .

A new window opens: click on Search and select the downloaded file with the name USt-Voranmeldung2021_DE.xdp.

When the file has been uploaded, please confirm with OK and the window closes.

4. Publish template:

In the overview, the form template now has the status “Not published”, so mark the line and click on the button Publish to activate the form.

A new window opens asking whether you want to publish the changes. Please confirm this with OK .

You can then carry out the run for generating the VAT advance return as usual.
