In another sneak preview, Rainer Zinow shows the promising progress in the development of the HTML5-based SAP Business ByDesign user interface, which will be available to all SAP Business ByDesign customers as a beta version in their test tenants with the upcoming release (16.05) will.

In the future, SAP Business ByDesign will no longer require a Silverlight plug-in. SAP is working hard on a modern HTML5 environment for its medium-sized business solution, which will also receive a new, user-friendly user interface with SAP Fiori.

Some current browsers, such as Google Chrome, no longer support the Silverlight plug-in, so SAP Business ByDesign users are currently recommended to use Internet Explorer.

The advantage of SAP Business ByDesign in HTML5 is therefore obvious: in the future, the cloud solution will be displayed in a consistently high quality, regardless of platform, in all browsers and on all end devices. SAP Business ByDesign can be operated via tablets without installing apps and can even be used on a smartphone.

When converting to HTML5, SAP guarantees that all previously created documents will remain usable in the future. As a user, you don’t have to do anything else.

The form elements and all interactive functions of the solution will also benefit significantly from the changeover. A noticeable effect on performance and thus a reduction in loading times can also be expected.

If you would like to test your SAP Business ByDesign solution with the HMTL5 interface, you can do that very easily: Simply add your system ID to this link instead of XXXXXX: https://myXXXXXX.sapbydesign.com/sap/ public / byd / runtime? client_type = html

Please note: the HMTL5 surface is currently still in the development stage despite the constant improvements. You should not use them for productive work yet.
